baden panoramic view - from kurpark belvedere by dvideira This beautifully landscaped garden is one of the good reasons to visit Baden. This restful spot is actually a development of an once relatively small Theresiangarten ( named after Empress Maria Theresia ), next to the Bath, which now extends from the town centre right into the southeast edge of the Wienerwald ( Vienna Woods ). From there you can have a picturesque view of the city. Leave a Comment

Beethovens home by nhcram Beethoven stayed in at least seven different addresses during his 17 visits to Baden between 1804 and 1825. This being one of them! It was one of his favourite summer resorts. Who can blame him, it is wonderful. The apartment on the first floor has now been restored and is a museum to Beethoven. The ground floor contains an antique shop selling generally tasteless tourist gifts. Leave a Comment Address: Rathausgasse 94Directions: Centre of Baden

Just one of the Thermal Baths in Baden by nhcram Baden is the principal Spa town in Austria and the thermal baths here are impressive. Large, well organised and spotlessly clean. Many people come here from afar in an attempt to be healed of their ailments. Aswell as the baths there are facilities for underwater massage mud packs and general wellbeing treatmens. Stadttheater - baden bei wien by dvideira As much as Vienna, Baden has strong musical traditions. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven resided and worked in Baden. Franz Liszt, as well as the composers of the Viennese waltzes such as Josef Lanner, the Strauss brothers, Carl Michael Ziehrer and Karl Millöcker lived and created their music here. This theater is mostly used for performances in Winter season, while in the Summer one can enjoy the concerts in the spa gardens and the operetta festival in the Sommer Arena. Leave a Comment
