Take the former "Treppel-weg" - it was the small path along the Danube, where horses pulled the rafts and sailingships up the Danube in medieval times .
These paths are all covered with asphalt today and bikers will go along the Danube - apart from the dangerous car-trafic
You may rent a bike in every small village in the Danube-valley, find bike-repair-stations and are even able to book an organized tour :
From Passau(Germany) to Vienna in 5 or 7 days.
You will go by bike, while your luggage is taken from one hotel to the next, and all reservations will be included !
