on August 23, 2007In ancient times boats were pulled upstream by horses and even people and the paths for that purpose are still existing and have been adapted for an excellent scenic cycling directly along the river ("Treppelweg"). And in reasonable weather hundreds of cyclists do that every day, in total it is estimated about 150.000 cyclists per aear - and there are attractive stops for sightseeings and "Heurige" for getting wine (or even grape juice) and good snacks almost everywhere.
