There is a cable car, the Rax-seilbahn, that takes you straight up to the Rax moutain (1540m) in 8 minutes. The cable car station at the top of the Rax is called the Bergstation. Next to it is the Berggasthof (Restaurant Tip).

From Preiner Gscheid, you need to walk 1 hour to arrive in Waxriegelhaus (open since 1924) where you can eat and drink! after hiking on the Rax it's just the perfect place. You also have the possibility to have a room for 2 or for 4 persons. and the view from Waxriegelehaus it's just beautiful... Mountains and forests together... in winter with snow, in summer with cows...
