Watch out, when walking through the park and terraces of Rosenburg.
You might walk through an arch - like I did - and stand in front of such a large bird all of a sudden and unexpected...
The birds are used to visitors, but not every visitor is used to the birds...

This is one of the great wooden doors inside the museum of Rosenburg.
When you click on my picture, you may see the great craftsmenship for making the locks and the fixtures of the door .
The material is at least partly silver.
The " rounded edges " of the picture are the only disadvantage of the extreme wide-angle-lens that I had to use for that picture.

There is also a great collection of medieval costumes displayed in the museum of the castle.
The room is so small, that I had to use the fish-eye-converter in order to catch it all.
Have a look also for the great wooden ceiling !

In the basement of the castle there is a small museum that shows the same kind of sandstone-dwarfs, as they were very popular in the time of the 17th century.
When you click on my pic, you may see it on the left.
In Salzburg / Mirabellgarten you may see a big group of that kind of sculptures.

This lovely old door is a side-entrance to the castle and it was unfortunately locked.
But somehow I always love to see these old masterpieces of architecture, made so plenty of centuries ago without any modern machines and knowledge.
Simply ask your local carpenter to make such a door and see , what it looks like in 300 years.. :-))

Take a look down the castle-terrace - there is the small river " Kamp " down in the valley, another obstacle for enemies approaching the castle of Rosenburg.
And the panorama is quite spectacular from up there, even if I took this pic with my 17mm wide-angle-lens.
The old knights used this balcony also partly to watch out and make sure, no enemies are on their way to the castle.

As you may see on that advertisment, falconry - performances are held quite often during the summer.
Falconry was a traditional way of hunting, that was praticed in almost every castle.

Watch out for the beautiful and precious old furniture, when walking through the castle.
These 2 chairs date back to the 17th century, and are to be found in the entrance hall to the library.

On the 2nd floor of the castle you may take a look from the great Renaissance-balcony of the castle.
This balcony may also be used for your party, when you rent it for a festivity.
