    Römermuseum Tulln (Roman Archeological Museum)

by travelthrough Written Jun 17, 2015

The Romans settled mainly along the Danube river which served as a continental border against Germanic and Slavic tribes. Tulln, like Vienna, belonged to the Roman Province Noricum.

The Museum hosts a number of artefacts, jewelry, clay sculptures and a wallpainting. There is also an exhibit on the Dominican Monastery and the life of the nuns.

    Egon Schiele Museum

One of the great artist - a friend of Klimt - coming from this little town - Egon Schiele. You will hear about him in every corner and citizens are really proud of him here. There was opened the museum and gallery on July 12, 1990 as honour to him. The museum is built up in an old prison where Egon spent some weeks in the cell of number 8. There is complete bed and the cell itself in the museum. Great sketches and pictures of this artist u will see in my travelogue here.

    A very interesting fountain

by Skipka Updated Oct 21, 2003

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

People believe or not this is the fountain composed by local artist and the material is stone (according the guide around 2000 thousands years old ) right near the Egon Schiele's Gallery. I don't know the exact name of it but it looks pretty interesting. :)

A natural park in the middle of the lush woods near Tulln. There is a wonderful swimming lake with ducks where people enjoy a nice swim on hot summer days. (Admission until 8 p.m. in summer)
