First a piece of history:

In the year 1832 it was founded by Johann Zauner, a wine dealer and confectioner.

Johann Nestroy liked the pastries at Zauner and forgot to pay, till he succumbed to the charm of the waitress. Here in the pastry shop Zauner the gugelhupf is baked using the original recipe from Katharina Schratt, since she ordered it for the daily break with the emperor, just as a reinsurance should her own fail.

Troughout all the external changes the pastry shop Zauner maintained its noble elegance, and its confectioners maintained their intention for perfection and pleasure on creativity.

What to buy: All kinds of pastries, bonbons etc. most famous the original Zauner Stollen.

What to pay: Depending on what you want to buy, but somewhere between € 6,50 and € 30,00 would be the average.
