Gmunden & the Traunsee

So many high and impressive mountains are situated around the lake - a few of them are covered by snow almost all the year.

These mountains, seen in the back of my pic, are in the area of Hallstatt, that is certainly also worth a visit for it's interesting way to store the bones inside a bonehouse with headbones beautifully decorated...

More infos about it are on my Hallstatt-page !!

There is another old castle - close to Schoß Orth and it is used as a school for forest-engeneers - and even if you may not enter the buildings itself, they also look great from outside

It is ant the beginning of the bridge that leads you to the Schloß - island

always take some old bread with you - you will meet plenty of swans and might take great pics, when you feed them

This pic was taken in Toskana-park, just a few 100 meters from Schloßhotel Orth

This is the east coast of the lake with old alley trees along the way - its also the area where you may park your car easily and without charge - while in the city parking is restricted and limited to a few places only

Traunsee is also a great lake for bathing and camping-vacations

The main-road goes on the west-coast of Traunsee to the villages of Traunstein and Ebensee
