 | Grein Transportation | Tips 1 - 3 of 3 | | Popular Transportation | Other Transportation Tips | All Tips (3) Cycling along the river danube is a lot of fun and it is easy to do, as all the way from Passau to Vienna the road is going smoothly downwards except for a very few places where it i going uphill for a few meters. The largest part of that cycling-path is along the Danube, on small side-paths like the one that you can see on my main picture. These paths were built in order to tear the rafts and other ships upstream by many horses. Many companies are offering packages with pre-booked hotels and your big luggage will be taken from one hotel to the other, while you are cycling there with just your small day-luggage. www.radurlaub.com --- same webpage in english --- www.radreisen.at --- www.donauradweg.at Leave a Comment

Grein Bad-Kreuzen is the name of the train-station of Grein and you will find it in the back of the village, just about 200 meters from the main square and 300 meters from the ship-landingstation. Tickets are sold ONLY by machines, so you will NOT find any counter at the station, where you can get informations or tickets. For trains to Grein you can click on my link below, all trains are included in the ordinary train-system in Austria, so your prepaid tickets like Eurail, Interrail etc. will be fully accepted ! Trains from Vienna will take between 2 and 3 hours one way ! Leave a Comment

Unfortunately there is no regular cruise to Grein, except on weekends during the summerseason, when the ships from Vienna to Linz will make a short stop in Grein. Longer cruises of hotelships will rather often stop in Grein for the night, I have seen these ships many times, when passing through Grein on my way home. Leave a Comment
