Luggage and bags: A backpack is my perfered way to travel through Europe. Pack light, pack light, pack light. I carried about 35 pounds of clothing and supplies for 4 months with no problems at all. If anything, I think I packed too much.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: A good, solid pair of shoes. The amount of walking done is amazing.
For Grunau, in the winter, a few good pairs of thermal underwear and cold weather clothing.
For the summer in Grunau, shorts and t-shirts or wicking material is good to have.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: There is a convienience store in the town of Grunau where you can get all your needs taken care of.
An basic toiletry kit and basic medical kit are essential items to have while traveling.
Photo Equipment: A decent digital camera if you just want to point and shoot if fine.
A good SLR or digital SLR camera and a lightweight tripod you want to carry them is okay.
