ONLY during the high season there is a regular ship from Vienna and from Linz to Mauthausen:
From july 6th till august 31st 2005 every Wednesday
From april 30th till october 1st 2005 every saturday
Ships are leaving Linz at 09.00a.m. and arrive in Mauthausen 10.20a.m.
Ships are leaving in Vienna 07.30a.m. arrival 08.25p.m.
from may 1st till october 2nd 2005 every sunday
and from Krems a ship is leaving at 8.30a.m. arrival 04.35p.m.
from july 7th till september 1st 2005 every Thursday
You have topress a button at the landing-stage
otherwise the ship will NOT stop there !!!
Mauthausen has also a train-station and combined tickets for ship & trains are available at every station !

In case that you need a taxi

When arriving at the trainstation in Mauthausen you will most probably not find taxis waiting there, so it might be the best to order a taxi in advance, so you dont loose any time. Walking to the KZ takes about 1 hour and maybe there is a public bus as well, but I am not sure.

Radf��hre Mauthausen - Enns

The Radfähre Mauthausen-Enns is a tiny ferryboat going to Enns across the Danube on a regular schedule during the summer-season:
May till August :between 09.00a.m. and 07.00p.m.
In september between 09.00a.m. and 06.00p.m.
The fees are moderate :
1 person+bike is 2 Euros one way / 3 Euros return
Pedestrians without bike are 1,50 and 2 Euros return
children on their own pay less
children under 15, travelling with their parents are free !!
The ferry is just about 50 meters downstream from Chalet Wedl
