Steyr was the first town in Europe to get street-lights with electricity in Europe and here you may see this first electricity-plant in Steyr (it is not in use any more - but looks even more romantic that way...)

This is Berggasse - about 50 meters above the Town-square.
Its pedestrian area and you will see plenty of nice buildings there as well.
Like the house on the left - it was the home of that person - I am not sure about the word : HENKER - the one in charge of the "Gouillotine"
Today this house is part of Stadthotel Styria and you may rent it

many of the old watermills are used today as private houses...
with a small garden around and a terrace facing the water.

Take a walk along the Steyr-Wehrgraben - it is actually not the real river STEYR, but an artificial branch to bring the water to the power-plants and hammer-works.

In Berggasse you may see the very last remain of the former town-wall.
Its just a very small house and the balcony and the gate you may walk through

Take a walk in Wehrgraben to the very end - its mostly a walk outside of car-trafic and a stroll besides the small side-arm of the river Steyr
