"Dine Around" is a nice idea to get aquaited with a small medieval town like Steyr !
You will take a walk with a "Nachtwächter" / night-watchman and get a hot or cold welcome-drink, a soup, a maincourse and a desert - all at different stations and restaurants in Steyr .
Favorite Dish: The menu of these Dine Around-events is always a bit different and one of the best stations of the tour might be the spire of the gothic Stadtpfarrkirche, where you will have the very best view over the town and will be served a glass of Sekt / sparkling wine.
Mostly you will also see the famous Steyrer Kripperl !

Its that house up on the hill, that looks a bit like a church.
It has a great terrace overlooking the old part of town
Favorite Dish: They have a fancy kitchen - maybe a bit more expensive than average - but its a great place for a special occasion and when the weather is fine, as they also have a terrace

This restaurant is special also because of where and how it's situated. You should go here on a sunny day, when the terrace is open and enjoy a well prepared lunch with an exclusive tinge.
Swans swim by, gliding over the perfectly still surface of the lake's waters (the Attersee).
This is a romantic scene, indeed.

The reason why I find this restaurant so special is the view. Sitting on the terrace you can see the complete valley surrounding the village Hallstatt. It is mavelous. The Hallstätter lake is beneath you and straight in front is the mountain range called Dachtstein. On the other side of the restaurant, so in the direction of the mountain you are on, you can see the typical nature of the Salzkammergut area: large green trees, moss-covered rocks and more mystical woods. (here is also the famous Gräberfeld, that´s an field with old graves)
To get to the restaurant is the hard part: you either pay € 7,50 for the mountain train (tal- und bergfahrt, that means up and down the mountain) or you go up by train and walk down (long walk down). Parking the car on the parkinglot at the valley station of the little train is very expensive!!!! (€ 4,50). Maybe it´s worth it to find another spot a bit further down the streets...
Favorite Dish: This would absolutely be Kaiserschmarren. Check out the general tips if you want to know what it is.
