Doubles as a restaurant and a hotel/Gasthof. Because we'd booked our stay at the B&B Privatzimmer Feiken on the outskirts of the village of Wesenufer, that provided no dinner, we turned to the 'Schiffmeister' for our dinner three out of five nights (2011). Lively atmosphere, outdoor cafe with view onto the river Danube and hills on the opposite side.
In 2014, we spent five nights here at their Gasthof. We had the best room, no. 1, with an excellent view. But as we were visiting friends of ours in nearby Eschenau, we chose to eat at their place. See my hotel tip. In between our two visits, they had their exceptional flood, the Jahrhundert-überschwemmung, in the year 2013. So when we returned the whole place had been renovated.
Favorite Dish: In the course of the three evenings that we had our dinner here, we had Gesottener Donauwaller and Bauernomelett mit Salat; Schlemmerschnitzel; and Zanderfilet. Prices ranging from 35 to 45 euro for the two of us.
