Take a hike along the Hohenweg. Wonderful walk from Bad Hofgastein to Gruner Baum/Bad Gastein. This relatively easy walk is about 8 -10 klm (about 3 hours) long and traverses the ridge along the valley between the two towns. Lovely views along the way and the path is well maintained and even suitable for prams. A highlight is that the path goes through a couple of tunnels which were built to cross a small waterfall and cliff face. A bit of a climb when you start at Bad Hofgastein but flattens out quickly. You can either take the bus back to Bad Hofgastein or walk back along the other side of the valley along the Erzherzog-Johann Promenade. Facilities all along.
