Grossarl village

Grossarl isn't a big village. But you can see there little streets with houses in typical Austrian style.

 Gerrem Says:  Living at family Heigl was a really pleasure. Barbara & Peter are very friendly and hospitable. A little comfortable pension with several rooms and two apartments. Directly near the slope.You can skiing down to the lift station and also from the hills down to the pension.

 Gerrem Says:  You can sit inside or outside. It's not a high quality cuisine, more take away but great for a short break. I had grilled sausages with fries.

 Gerrem Says:  A great steakhouse in mexican/spanish style. We had a mixed Torero plate for 5 persons...It was great !

 Gerrem Says:  The highest takeaway at the alps with a brilliant view ! Since 1995 two young Austrian running this little restaurant. It's always funny there... Bosna: a spicy Bulgarian sausage...

 Gerrem Says:  Directly after skiing you can go to the "Schirmbar". It's a real meating point for thirsty people...It's allways very crowded. Sometimes you can watch some "tourist table dancing". If you leave the bar (still wearing ski boots) it gets sometimes very difficult to carry...

 Gerrem Says:  From Hanover we had a 7 hour drive to Grossarl. The motorway/interstate goes until Salzburg. From there it is just about one hour through the valleys... 

Ski Bus

 Gerrem Says:  Our pension was near the slope, so we could start skiing from there. If you live away from the slope you always can take the Ski bus. I'ts running twice every hour.

If you come to Grossarl..of course for skiing:

The ski lift Grossarltal whisked us up to the heights for unforgettable days of skiing.
- 250 km marked hiking trails
- 40 alpine huts serving food and beverages
- Part of the area is in Nationalpark Hohe Tauern
- 80 km marked mountain bike trails

Equipment: Skiing clothes. Skis and boots are for rental, if you don't own them.
