Favorite thing: My wife and I enjoyed the bus journey from Zell Am See to Krimml Waterfalls and back, especially the beautiful farmland along the way, and not forgetting the cows :) As a whole, Austria is a very clean and neat country, and this can be reflected from what we see along the way to Krimml Waterfalls.

Favorite thing: It is not easy to walk up the steep trail of Krimml Waterfalls, luckily there are many benches along the path for people to take a rest. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the benches while taking our breath and resting our aching leg muscles. Also, the trees provide very good shade from the hot summer sun :)

Favorite thing: When my wife and I were at Krimml Waterfalls in June 2007, we saw lots of beautiful and colourful flowers due to the fact that it was summer in Austria. However, the weather tends to be hot during summer and cloudy so you may not be able to see the mountains sometimes. Another good thing about summer is the long daylight hours (the sunset was at about 9pm when we were in Austria).

Favorite thing: When you are at Krimml Waterfalls, it is possible to see one or even two rainbows when you are at one of the lookout points near to the waterfalls because of the cloud of small water droplets sprayed from the waterfalls reflect light from the sun. I was lucky to be able see the rainbow and please visit the travelogue section of this VT page for more photos of the rainbow.

Favorite thing: Personally, walking the Krimmler Achental was a very unique experience. Although everybody goes there for the waterfalls, the quiet, relaxed valley is a very beautiful destination in its own right.
