This small parish church I found jammed in amongst the buildings in the Village.
I have tried hard to find information on it, and haven't come up with much.
I know it was built in the 15th century and the frescoes date back to this time. It was open so I went inside and found a Teacher with a class of school children. It has a lovely Altar and other statues, I liked the baroque statue of Saint George and the dragon and the lovely pulpit. I could see the ceiling was quite old and hadn't been restored.

You will find it easily, so do go inside if the door is open.

Lofer is a market town, so surely they hold markets in the Marktplatz where the Rathaus is located.
In the Marketplatz is a circle of benches, a water fountain and in the centre, sculptures of a Hen and her chickens.
There was another sculpture under a tree that looked like rocks with a bird on top, I have no idea what it was!

Lofer is only a small village and very easy to walk around. Situated on the walls of 40 buildings around town are historic panels.

What I liked about Lofer, were the pretty painted houses and businesses, many with painted Luftmalerei. Even the church had Luftmalerei!
Then I noticed that some of the buildings had wrought iron signage hanging from their building, I love this! The double headed Eagle sign was dated 1606.

When we were driving around Lofer, we came across the Almenwelt Gondola station. I went across to see if it was open, and it wasn't, this was in May.

Lofer is a large resort with 13 lifts (2 gondolas, 2 chair lifts, 9 surface lifts) that offers skiers an incredible 1030 metres of vertical descent. Lofer is family friendly and best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for both expert and intermediates. There are 50 klms of cross country ski trails and snow boarders have a terrain park.
