Favorite thing: Salzburg is of course the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Next to that it played a big roll in the filmmusical Sound of music.

Lot's of places remind of this nice musical.

But the main thing to visit Salzburg is the town itselve and it's inhabitants.

Fondest memory: In January 1997 the UNESCO decided to take Salzburg's historic city center in the list of world heritage sites. The center is a Baroque gem and is world wide known. Highlights are, for example, the cathedral or Mozart's birth house.

    In the Old Town

Favorite thing: Take a stroll around the Old Town of Salzburg which is located on the left bank of the river Salzach.
There are many picturesque buildings in the narrow passageways. The many arcades, courtyards, steep and narrow steps create a unique atmosphere. The Old Town can be explored by horse-drawn carriages.
