Irish budget airline Ryan Air is now flying regularly to Salzburg, sometimes for as little as 20p (+ tax) from London (and some other locations). Its well worth checking out their web site (www.ryanair.com) in order to look around for the best deals.

We flew to Salzburg from London with Ryanair, at a bargain price of £40 per person inc tax!!!!
Salzburg has a small clean airport, there isnt much in the way of facilities here...but they have the essentials - coffee, bank, duty free!!
You can use the bus to get into the centre of the city or take a taxi.

We flew from Stansted for a ridiculous price of £30 for 2 people return flights.Saltzburg airport is adequate enough,taxi fare into town was more than the airfare !!! Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Salzburg has its own airport: of course, it's called 'Mozart' airport. But it is not so common to find a fly landing there; the best option is to fly to Munich (Munchen), in Germany and then take a train which will bring you in Salzburg in 1 and a half hour. Take the urban railway (line S8) up to Munchen Ost and there pass the trains heading to Salzburg. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

now from London, Ryanair is ridiculously cheap, i met english people who went for the weekend for 40 quid. Otherwise you could try Vienna and then the 3 hr train ride west from there but this will be more expensive.

Salzburg has its own airport, but being a small one you won't find many flights, especially cheap ones. Munich is close so fly into Munich's airport, then catch an S-Bahn (surface metropolitan light railway) to the Munchen Ost or Munchen Hauptbahnhof stations and then an Intercity or regional train to Salzburg. The trip lasts barely 2 hours and German trains are clean and comfortable. If you arrive in Munich on a Saturday or Sunday don't forget to buy a Wochenende (weekend) Ticket, it costs only around 5 and you can use it on all regional trains to Salzburg and even on teh S-Bahn to the station!
