The shop was absolutely gorgeous and sold thousands upon thousands of decorated Christmas eggs. I hand carried six home from Austria to Florida and wish I had carried sixty home. Each egg is unique and the colors and variety were very beautiful.
This is the shop that people seek out when they visit Salzburg. It is a magical collection of every kind of Christmas decoration and accessory that you can imagine. When I was in Salzburg in 2007, there was also an Easter Shop just nearby, but when I returned in 2009, that seemed to have been replaced by more of the Christmas Shop. Don't miss it!
What to buy:
Everything to do with Christmas.
What to pay:
A lot.
The Christmas Shop is crammed full of baubles and christmas
paraphernalia, and you are sure to find something to take home with you
I apologise for the blurred picture.

Anything to do with the festive season is here for you to choose.
Everything you need to complete your Christmas decorating frenzy, this is the place to do it. They have every possible ornament you could imagine, and the atmosphere is quiet and cozy.
What to buy:
Christmas ornaments!!!
What to pay:
prices are fair, depending on what tickles your fancy!
This shop is located at the end of Getriedegasse towards Mozartplatz.
Its a shop clearly aimed for the tourist, but I must admit there was something special about seeing a Xmas shop in a beautiful snowy city.....No I diddnt buy a thing!
What to buy:
Ummmmmmm....Xmas Things!
This very unique shop sells eggs. The catch is they're not meant for eating, these eggs are emptied egg shells that are hand painted with beautiful designs and used as all types of ornaments. Christmas, Easter, Spring, even Halloween, they're all represented. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the store but if you follow Getreidegasse to where it meets with Judengasse, you'll see it on the left hand side next to the Hotel Altstadt.
What to buy:
As many eggs as you can carry. They make great gifts but they are extremely fragile!!!!
It is one of these places that may ONLY exist in places with plenty of Japane and American Tourists
(NO Austrian would ever think of buying any X-mas-things in summertime ;-)
What to buy:
Typical or at least " thought to be typical " Christmas-decorations
What to pay:
Its not a place to look for a bargain...
...after all you are a tourist and you are in Salzburg...
;-))
This is a very famous shop in Salzburg. It sells Christmas things year round, and actually is packed with people wanting to buy year round. A fun stop.
What to buy:
Any Christmas thing that you could want.
What to pay:
$5-200 whatever you want.
Whatever you might need for your christmas decorations, you will find in the christmas shop. Do pop in and just look at what they have to offer. Fantastic stuff
