The route of the huts
The Salzburger Almenweg is a route of 350 km, divided into 31 segments, going through the most scenic landscapes of the region, and using the alpine "huts" for sleeping. Its starting and ending point is Pfarrwerfen. I don't know many people who have the time and the stamina to do the entire route, which would take 31 days, but those who wish to make a few of the hikes included in the circuit will find a lot of info in the booklet and in the website of the Salzburger Almenweg: detailed maps, altitude charts, descriptions of the things to see, info about the huts. The website has even a virtual tour, so you can choose points in any path of the circuit and see pictures as if you were there. All the paths in this route require proper hiking gear.
