Favorite thing: The Giant Ice Caves at Werfen are well worth a visit and contain miles of tunnels. The caves are freezing cold so take a coat or sweater. You have to go around with a guide who will show you the finer points of the caves. There is a certain amount of climbing up & down as you go around. There is a 20 minute walk from the car park to the cable car. After the journey in the cable car there is another 20 minute walk to the entrance of the caves. Unfortunately photography is no longer allowed inside the caves.

Favorite thing: This is the view to the entrance of the Giant Ice Caves. On the walk up, one of the guides at the entrance to the caves, was beating a drum to encourage your efforts.

Favorite thing: You can use the cable car to reach the Gaint Ice Caves at Werfen which takes 3 minutes. The views from the cable cars are impressive. Or you can spend 90 minutes walking up the mountain, it costs 5.50 euros going up or 5 euros for the descent using the easier cable car option.
