Take a walk at night through the city of Graz and you will see, that most of the places of interest are perfectely lighted, and some of them look even better or at least more romantic during the night.
I made a picture-combination with the tomb-stone of Kaiser Ferdinand III, who is burried inside the Mausoleum.
The Mausoleum is a museum today, and I may highly recommend to see its interior during the day !!

Graz is Austria`s second largest city and has it`s second large opera house. The building seems to be baroque style, but actually it dates from the end of the 19th century. Currently you can see for example the Nutcracker, Rigoletto, Carmen or Cole Porter`s Anything goes (which was a solid performance, a bit lenghty though). Tickets are cheaper than what you have to pay for an evening at Vienna opera. A ball takes place there once a year- the "Opernredoute". In case you are just interested in the building- for a fee of about EUR 3,5 you can participate in a guided tour.

Although I dont like going in to Irish bars in other countries, as it kinda of defeats the object of travelling, this time it was necessary. It was very very cold outside and we had been walking all day long and needed a sit down, and this was the only place we could find.
I must admit that I did have a good time Flann O'Brien's as they stocked a wide range of beers at very very good prices, so needless to say, we stayed there for the night, and consumed several pints of cheap beer.
We did also have some food in there, which was very tasty and came in large portions, so if you have been longing for a pint of your home brew, or even a local brew, head there for a drink, its a cool joint.

We were wandering around the old town and whilst warlking around one of the many courtyards of Graz, we stumbled upon this charming little wine bar.
It was obviously a very popular spot amongs the locals, that enjoy their favourite glass of wine here.
Its got lots of wine on the shelves, so if you want, you can purchase a bottle to take home with you if you wanted.
They also offered some snacks in the form of olives, breads etc, a real charming place to enjoy a few drinks in the warmth away from the cold. Leave a Comment

I've been to an ERASMUS Party organized every two weeks [as far as I know] where there's all kinds of music [mostly commercial], depending on visitors' wishes... It's a pretty cool place if you wanna hook up with some exchange students. Leave a Comment Theme: DancingDirections: The sports center
