Finkenberg/Zillertal

Finkenberg/Zillertal is a very nice place to ski. With 225km of pistes between 2100 and 3000 metres altitude, it offers a litt bit for everyone. The only drawback is that there are not many blue pistes, so the choice for beginners is somewhat limited. However, there are different levels of reds, so put on the helmet and don't worry much. Some reds are not cleaned, so you may end up doing moguls training (esp No15) ..

You can pick up a map with a pre-arranged route - 14km pistes across the region - which should take a full day or can be broken into few shorter sessions.

The ski schools are good, as attested by my 20-yr-old brother and my 58-year old mother-in-law (both beginners). There is a half-pipe as well.

The prices are very reasonable - 5 days ski pass - 145Euro, 5 days equipment - 70 euro, 4 day ski school & equipment - 130... don't think you can beat this.

Equipment: We got a pretty volatile weather batch, so anti-fog gear is a good idea. There is a shop in Finkenberg selling at reasonable prices.
