The Bones in the Church
Favorite thing: The Church of St Nikolaus in Hall in Tirol contains a grim but captivating collection of remains of various minor saints on display in glass cabinets in the Waldaufkapelle.
These were donated to the church by the knight Florian Waldauf and the collection consists of 45 skulls and 12 other bones. They rest on embroidered cushions and are decorated with elaborate headdresses, all of which makes it seem more creepy but also more enthralling.
There is also what appears to be a complete skelton further down the same side of the church in another glass cabinet. Unfortunately I have no idea who this is/was or about the identities of the other individuals whose remains are now in the church.
Gruesome but essential viewing in Hall.
Favorite thing: I just love this square at the centre of the old town of Hall in Tirol!
It's just what I would have hoped for. Surrounded by lovely old buildings, lined with good cafés and not crowded with other tourists. There views of the tower of St Nikolaus Church on a fine day are superb.

Favorite thing: Well this is another specialty, that you don't have to miss.
Sachertorte is a chocolate cake, invented by Franz Sacher in 1832 for Klemens Wenzel von Metternich in Vienna, Austria. It is one of the most famous Viennese culinary specialties.
The trademark for the "Original Sachertorte" was registered by the Hotel Sacher, which was built in 1876 by the son of Franz Sacher.
Nobody knows the real recipe because is well kept secret... You can imagine why.
It consists of two layers of dense, not overly sweet chocolate cake with a thin layer of apricot jam in the middle and dark chocolate icing with shreds of chocolate on the top and sides. It is traditionally served with whipped cream without any sugar in it.
Favorite thing: Apfelstrudel is a traditional pastry of Austria and a popular dish in many countries that once belonged to the Austro-Hungarian empire. It is the most widely known kind of strudel.
Well if you like sweet, don't miss that, you are inside the country who is really specialist in making that, in every way, so taste it, well the portions are usually pretty big, so enjoy it and lick your mustache :)
