If you don't want to do that, or you want to do something different there are lots of other things too. There are two golfcourses close to the city; a 9-hole in Sperberegg 2 km away and a 18-hole in Rinn 7 km away.
At 2000m in Patscherkofel you can find the highest botanical garden in Europe and it has over 400 different high-alpine plants. Or you can go to the gorge of Imst and try rafting if you prefer that. The trail is 14,5 km and takes about 2 hours. It's also possible to raft on the river of Inn.
Other popular things are biking, tennis, volleyball, bungeejumping, horseriding, swimming, summer bobsleigh and minigolf. Leave a Comment

It's situated at 900m above the sea, and is very close to Innsbruck. It's a beautiful city, and worth a stop if you are nearby. Close to the city is the mountain Patscherkofel, and there are cablecars that takes you to the top. In winter you can ski in the olympic skislopes, and in summer there are lots of trails for hiking. If you want to try mountain climbing there are lots of possibilities for that. When I was there they used to have free mountain hiking programmes. You could rent the equipment if you needed, and then a guide would help you through different hiking routes. You didn't even have to have any previous experience with climbing, but I'm not sure if they still offer this.
There are also different kinds of events that you can join, f.ex. night-hiking with laterns and hiking to see the sunrise. You should check out some of these if you are in the area.
Zirbenweg is a "stone pine path" in the Patscherkofel. You take the cable car up and follow a 7 km long trail which takes you past some very old stone pines. You also have a great view of the Inn valley from here. Leave a Comment

The Patscherkofel is a 2200m high mountain next to Igls where you can go skiing. If you include the Stubai glacier there are more than 130 km of slopes and 63 lifts, where the highest point is 3200m.
There is also a bobsleigh track here which was used in the Olympics. You can even try it with an experienced driver if you want, and it goes more than 100 km/h! If you prefer something a bit more quiet there are some hiking trails in the area too. Leave a Comment
