Bus route J is the quickest way to travel between Igls and the city centre of Innsbruck. It's not such a picturesque journey as the tram but it does go all the way into the city centre and it goes every 15 minutes during the day.
It's all covered by an Innsbruck card or the usual ticketing system of Innsbruck's public transport system.
The most scenic way to reach Igls is by tram number 6 which winds it's way through the forest from Bergisel at the southern tip of the city of Innsbruck.
Fares are covered by the ticketing system of Innsbrucks public transport system or included in an Innsbruck Card.
The tram also stops at Tummelplatz for Schloss Ambras a great castle to visit.
The tram does only go once an hour so check the times to avoid a long wait. The bus is quicker and more frequent, but less scenic.
