Albert Bogner - Tierpräparator: A Wolpertinger makes a perfect souvenir !
This shop has only 2 windows in the pedestrian zone, and you may buy these prepared animals in a shop in Absam, a part of Innsbruck in the south.
My favorite animal in that shop was a Auerhahn ( Capercaillie / wood groose)
What to buy: When you click on my picture you may see this "Wolpertinger" that might make a perfect souvenir for all hunters worldwide, as this is a really rare and rather shy animal living only in Bavaria and Tyrol.
NObody ever saw it alive but sometimes hunters find them dead in the woods.
Quite strange is the fact, that all of them look different, some hove horns like a young deer, some like a sheep...
Wolpertinger are in fact part of plenty of stories told by hunters and so clever people tried to "create" such animals for fun. Also in Bavaria you may buy them in some shops.
What to pay: 150 Euros for such a rare animal is certainly a fair price ! they also had a cheaper one for 140 Euros.
And the Auerhahn was 600 Euros !

The old town: Souvenirs
What to buy: In the old town you can get all the souvenirs you need to bring home - from wonderful cakes to "Tiroler Speck" - the local bacon. We only passed the shop on the picture when it was closed otherwise I would've bought a little piece of Tiroler Speck for sure!
Souvenirs: Many souvenir shops
Looking for souvenirs to bring back home ?
The old town is the right place for you.
There are many nice little shops where i'm sure you can find great memories to bring back home, for you and your family.
burgriesen souvenir: what not to buy in innsbruck souvenir shops
typical souvenirs of the tryol region, however the prices are killer and their return policy is not listed on their recipts. found them to be hostile and rude and particularly money grubbing
What to pay: sweaters are market up as you might expect in that sort of store where a tourist does not get value for money nor quality goods

Several throughout Innsbruck: Beautiful crystal
Austrian crystal makes a great souvenir or gift, and there are several crystal shops in Innsbruck. I don't remember specifically where I bought this one. I had heard that Austria makes beautiful crystal, so I bought this as a souvenir of my trip.
What to pay: The prices on crystal were reasonable- some items were more expensive than others, but that's how it is with everything. Some of the crystal is breathtaking! Well worth a splurge if you have the cash.
Several souvenir shops in Innsbruck: Big drinking goblets (great souvenirs)
What to buy: These big goblets are neat souvenirs, and are not expensive. There are many different designs.
This particular one depicts the Goldenes Dachl, a popular attraction in Innsbruck.
What to pay: Less than $10
kitschy goods for your beloved...
In the area around the Goldenen Dachl there are plenty of small shopps that sell souveniers. The prices are slightly higher than usual, but you get there ever 'kitsch' you would like from Tirol ;-)
What to buy: Get a Yodelbär - ok maybe not - but at least play with one ;-)
Walde is a small shop full of nice things. Here you can find candles of every kinds, decorations and religious items.
What to buy: I bought a small candle.
