Castle Landhit

 Jasen71 Says:  To the south of the city in the upper Inn valley lies the Castle Landhit. Bulit in about 1300 AD, and was the Court seat of the Counts Von Tirol. The musuem was started in the late 1960's and has recently been revamped to house a history, art and music displays.

 dabidc Says:  Well it is not really a site for all, I just get interested in the neat, well laid out (pardon the pun) groups of grave markers. The finished photo appeals to my sense of interesting photos.

 dabidc Says:  Look around and see the mountains to thenorth as well as the small town spread out below.The Inn flows to the north then abrubtly turns east and meets the Danube at Passau.

 dabidc Says:  It is a climb from the hotel by the river to reach the castle above the town. Once there the views are extensive, across the valley to the north. There is a park like setting near the castle.

 dabidc Says:  I had booked a night here and was travelling by bus from the Engadine. Quite suddenly Landeck was upon me and also just as suddenly I spotted the hotel, so quicky left the bus at the first stop, by the shopping centre.and tourist office. I later determined it is a long way...

 desert_princess Says:  Starting from the main bus station all the way to the castle of Landeck - you can find here enough shops to waste half a day. C&A , Palmers , Intersport ,Libro etc etc . Theyb have usually sales ,so you can always find something intersting at a good price.

 dabidc Says:  There are many shops along the street from the Tourist office to the local bus staion further north. Just about everything one needs, from groceries to clothes, including items for the tourist.

 dabidc Says:  I guess you have to have a mechanical leaning to appreciate the machine and the operator working in the Grave yard. I salute the ingenuity of the man and his machine. You could say not a stone unturned.
