Not much to say about this picture. I just enjoyed the pure fun of snowboarding. Fresh snow, empty slopes - that's all you need... Leave a Comment

Spring in the Ziller Valley is beautiful. You can still see snow-capped mountain tops while the temperatures in the green valley are already rising. The river Ziller is full of water from the melted snow. Leave a Comment

A couple of hundred meters north of the city exit of Mayrhofen lies a beautiful small chapel. You can reach it by following the river Ziller from Mayrhofen to the north. The chapel is located on a hill. From there you have a great overview of the whole area. See Mayrhofen, the river Ziller and the mountain ranges surrounding the valley. Especially on a sunny day it is definetely worth to take a walk to the chapel at Burgstallschrofen. Leave a Comment

For a nice view across the Ziller Valley and the town of Mayrhofen you should ride the gondola to the top of the Ahorn mountain. Then take the slope that goes all the way back down to the valley. On several occasions on that run you have excellent view points across the region. Leave a Comment

The Church Square in the centre of town is an ideal meeting place, many of the day tripping coaches pick up from here just outside of the Winwin Casino. Also a nice place to sit and people watch. Leave a Comment

The river Ziller gave its name to the whole Ziller Valley in which Mayrhofen is located. From the village of Mayrhofen you can take a walk south at the riverfront. The scenary is nice. When I was there it was already spring in the valley, while the mountain tops were still capped by snow. There is also a cycling path beside the river. Just follow the Ziller down the stream.
