I noticed when walking beside the river that there are warning signs about rapid flooding, aparently some gates are opened somewhere further up stream to release the volume of water thus causing the river to surge, be aware of this at all times.

This is a danger warning to the cows really, as once above a certain height the cattle have the right of way, so if they are sat in the road you just have to wait until they want to move! Please drive carefully as you never know what is around the next bend.

As in any ski-area, it's important - no, actually it's vital - that you stay within the marked slopes. The risk of avalanches is always high, and are nearly impossible to predict.
