  • Mariahilfkirche

This church, located at the main street in Nauders, is a donation of Ulrich Pinggera, a noble citizen of Nauders. His votive offering is on the southern wall inside. The church was consecrated in 1659, the main altar is from 1740. I like this church very much, the decoration is unostentatious, but solid, forming a unity of (Baroque) style. The...

Located in the old Stables of the Castle, the Restaurant is something you shouldn't miss.
The first reason is the unique cave interior with dome ceilings. The Knights room with the armor, where you can eat fondue or knight's meal foth your fingers. Just make sure you call in advance so they get prepared.

Nauders Warnings and Dangers

  • Ski in Control !!! Behaviour code over...

The rules for slopes behaviour are :1.Always ski in control - with your behaviour you should not endanger the other participants2.Adjust your riding speed according to your abilities, the terrain and weather conditions 3.Choose your way respecting the rule that those in front of you have the right of way. You are the one that should take care of not...

  • Avalanche Danger Outside the slopes

Avalanche in the Goldsee Valley - march 2005You can see that the whole slope went down, I am no joking - take a look where the ridge is ,you will see the snow break... Fortunately there were no dead but it fell over a group that was on tour. So the rescue team had to search for some people buried under. Lucky for them ,they were alive.....The...

Nauders Off The Beaten Path

  • The fields of Tcheieck

These are the endless fields of Tcheieck one season ago (2003/04) when there was enough snow for everyone...You have plenty of space to leave your tracks in those high alpine cattle fields where the alpine cows spend their summer holiday to get the milka chocolate.(That's what actually the houses are there for..)

  • Huts in the woods

Huts in the woodsThese huts are used in the summer by the cattle owners to spend the whole summer up in the mountain. In the winter time they are hidden among the trees , but snowboarding is a sport that I don't consider it good for the slopes anyways.

  • Pizlat

Take the run to the middle station but than after the narrow path when you come to the wide and kinda steep slope, take left through the'll see many tracks leading that direction....You'll pass through some nice terain and a few wooden houses, and then arriving to a path, take the end of it, just before u arrive at the...

Nauders Sports & Outdoors

  • Hiking

Nauders is an excellent base for hiking in summer. You can start right in town, head off to each side of the valley. Nice mountain huts/inns are along the trails. The path on the picture was taken above the parish church, it leads to the inn Novelles at 1694 m and farther via inn Stables and to the top station of Bergkastel gondola. Or you hike up...

  • Cross-country skiing

I do cross-country skiing, too, even prefer it over Alpine skiing. Nauders has excellent offers for that kind of activity. Right outside the small town, near the castle, start groomed cross-country trails that lead toward Reschen pass and farther along lake Reschen to St. Valentin. All in all these are about 50 km of trails. They are quite snow...

  • Alpine Skiing

My trip to Nauders mid March 1994 was for skiing mostly. I do both Alpine and cross-country skiing. Nauders is pretty good for both. It has its own Alpine skiing area about 2 km outside of the town toward Reschen pass. A ski bus runs pretty frequently from Nauders to the skilifts and back - free. Postal buses connect Nauders with the ski resorts...
