Rattenberg is in the densely populated Lower Inn Valley and can easily be reached both by car or public transport. When coming by car you find spacious parking opportunities a few steps from the city. Parking is free of charge outside the business hours of the shops and 12:00 - 14:00 h. Frequent buses connect Rattenberg with the villages and touristic resorts around and in the side valleys as for example the Alpbach valley. And there is a railway station named "Rattenberg-Kramsach" where regional and commuter trains stop. But dont expect to see Rattenberg from the train when passing the area. A short tunnel for which the trains need only a few seconds passes the rocks of the Castle hill. You see tiny Rattenberg only when you leave the train and have passed the Dopolavoro restaurant - but then you are after a few steps already in the centre of everything.
Train to Rattenberg
Only slow trains stop in Rattenberg, every hour to Innsbruck and to Kufstein. Train station is 100 meter from the eastern town gate.
