Fuhrmann - Stube: Real Austrian food

by TheView Written Feb 12, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you like me like to taste the traditional cooking of the country you are visiting you might like visit Fuhrmann - Stube. The prices are modest to the normally very overpriced St. Anton and food is basic Austrian and in good size portions. You can not make a reservation but you may have a beer in the bar and order your food as you drink it.

    Great Pizza! Yum
    Especially when your starving

Nice casual atmosphere, 'there are a few benches, so chanegs are you'll be sitting next to complete strangers
Weird tomato shaped chandelleres hanging about

Favorite Dish: Pizza Al Tono (tuna)
My friend went wild over the ground pepper...too spicy for me but she thought it's the best thing ever

    Kandahar: Kandahar

    Kandahar was an indian/thai resteraunt
cosy setting, with floor seating and eastern design
Oil lights, red drapes, cushions, etc

The food was VERY spicy (surprising in a european country)
I even peaked into the resteraunt...but surprisingly the chef was blonde

At 2 am they remove all the chairs and tables and the place turns into a nightclub

Favorite Dish: Chicken Vindaloo (spicy red chicken) with white rice..

    Real good food, kinda fancy
    good service

Favorite Dish: Skip the schnitzels (it's an italian resteraunt, schnitzel is an austrian/german meat loaf...better try it somewhere else)

    I liked the penne arabiatta
Good starters too..not bad, but kinda pricey
