Favorite thing: Our rep told us that the old farmhouses are built with a cowshed at the rear as the cows help to keep the house warm in winter. Find time if you can to have a walk round the rural outskirts of St Johann - a real mix of old farmhouses and modern buildings, all very beautiful and neat.
Just enjoy strolling around the town and admire the beautiful frescoes and deorated oriels that are everwhere. This blue house - the Landhaus Schwarzinger - towards one end of the town was a favourite. It is a baroque farmhouse from the 17th century.
If interested in the decorative motifs then check out the travelogue below.
There is a big church in the center of town that is so well kept.
We were standing around the outside when we had heard music coming from the church so we went in to look and listen.
The local choir was singing and it sounded lovley.
This is an active church and mass is held every sunday.
Fondest memory: I think this is the most famous landmark in St. Johann - everyone who has been there has a picture of it.
Favorite thing: ... with houses that are as colourful and picturesque as if they had been taken off a children’s book…
