Seesstuber Restaurant: Pick your own trout
We stopped here twice once when we arrived and again on our return to the bus stop. The restaurant has extensive terraces with wonderful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Inside it is cool and spacious with ample seating. We chose to sit outside where ample shade from the sun is provided by the many umbrellas. Staff here are friendly and pleased to help, although it can be busy on a hot day service was quick and of a good standard.
Favorite Dish: On our first stop we were not at all hungry so settled for a cool drink - I had a banana milk shake and Kenny had some refreshing lemon tea. When we returned from a long hot walk around the lake there was enough time to have an early evening meal here. We were hungry this time, we both chose the same dish - baked trout in almonds with baby new potatoes garnished wih parsley butter served with a fresh vinigar and cider salad washed down with some iced mineral water. You can choose your own fish from the tank outside - which we didn't do - we let the waiter choose I didn't want to eat a fish I had recently viewed swimming around quite happily. Here freshness of the food is guaranteed.
- Hiking and Walking
??? it was 10 years ago! questions questions..: Beer and Cake, the man will make!
Massive slabs of cake and puddings! Also beer on tap. Very warm and friendly place, especially if you go in there every day.
Typical scenario: walk 3-4 hours in the hills. Burn off 900 calories. Restaurant: cake + beer replace 900 calories plus 900 calories...
Wouldn't be fun if it wasn't bad though eh?
Favorite Dish: Tiramisu followed by tarte lemon, and 1.5 litres of Kaiser.
