This road may seem a quiet track
The road (realy just a track) which winds its way along the lake shore would be the perfect place to walk. The downside is you have to share it with cars travelling in both directions. Although it was never busy a lot of cars did pass us only to turn and come back, maybe they saw the signs saying it was private land. The grass verge is very narrow at most points along the way but it is safer to stand here and let the cars pass rather than keep walking and share the road - the road is simply not wide enough. We met a couple here from our Hotel who told us later they had walked the winding steep down hill road back to the village. They had a near miss when a car rounded a bend too fast and the lady was a bit bruised when she fell trying to get out of the way. Listen out for cars approaching and step onto the verge. We did see a cute family of ducks who must have been used to the road their crossing was very hurried!

Watch out for those haystacks on poles. They look innocent enough, but get too close, and whamm!! In 4 months time you're cow food..
