There is lake in the city, and it lies in the outskirts of the forest. A path goes all the way around the lake, and it's really beautiful to go walking around it. There are lot's of ducks there so remember to bring something to feed them with... :)
It is also possible to go swimming here. Allthough it might be a bit cold, if you don't go in the middle of summer. There are a few facilites around the lake too, so you can sit down and have something to eat and drink if you like.

Many of the houses in Seefeld are beautifully decorated. They are very tastefully painted around the windows and the doors. Sometimes they also have other motifs on the walls, like a banner with the name of the house or something.
Under many of the windows they have the very traditional flowers which I don't remember the name of (please tell me if you know... ;). Every year there is a competition to determine which of the houses that have the best flowers and flowerdecorations.

On this postcard you can see the city, and it's not so big. But it's definetly a place worth visiting!
It has a big golfplace, the lake, a forest and of course lots of hills and mountains. You can take a nice and easy walk in the hills, go hiking more different paths or climbing if you prefer that.
There are also lots of other activities like: hunting, horseback riding, curling, skating, cycling, paragliding, mountain biking, rafting, rowing and so on.
But the thing that Seefeld is most famous for is the skiing in wintertime. The city is a famous winterresort and it has also hosted several competitions in the Olympic Winter Games(1964 and 1976).

Since we are no skiers, we just went hiking a little - and there are so many places to go to - and you always have a place to sit down, warm up and have a 'Jagertee' on the way!
Skiing (alpine and cross country) is possible, too, since Seefeld is 1200 meters above sealevel!

My absolute best place for the afternoon-early evening was the Olympia, Sport und Kongresszentrum. I got there by chance, after I hurt one of my feet and my skiing instructor suggested to go to a sauna. The places has a stunning pool (with huge boulders and real plants in the middle of it), and most important 3 dry saunas (at 90, 90, and 100 degree Celsius – all of them able to fit at least 15 people), a wet sauna (my favorite), a false sauna (at 50 degrees Celsius), the “Blue Grote” with a waterfall at 18 degree Celsius, the Jacuzzi (which had in fact the a size of a college pool!), and the solarium. The complex also included restaurants and bars, tanning beds, and a theatre (I don’t think many people care about the theatre, but I though to mention it anyways).
The place is just amazing. I always liked spas, but this place is huge compared to anything I have seen, and perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing. The entrance fee was about 15 euros (with the guest card discount!) plus 2 euros for towels (I’ve seen many people who brought theirs, but I didn’t think the savings were worth the trouble).

Taking a cable car and hiking on high mountains – this is the comfortable way of mountaineering!
There are different hiking routes. All of them I walked as a teenager...

Walk through the old town and take a look at all these houses. I guess it's really a tyrolean style. There is no window without flowers. And how carefully they take care of these flowers!

Address: In the old town
Just a few steps outside of the pedestrian area we saw this little church. Unfortunately it was closed this day so we were not able to go into the church and take a look.

strolling through the streets of Seefeld is enjoyable just as well! You can do a little shopping, do window shopping or sit in a café and enjoy a nice drink!
