Masner is the part of Serfaus ski area.
This part isn't that big but it's rather special. It has such microclimate that makes the snow there very good. Masner is known to have only natural snow, there is no snow-cannons there! And the snow is really perfect even when it could be rather slushy at the neighbour areas.
It takes some time to get to the area but it does worth to go there.
And take a break in skiing at the Masner restaurant (self-service) terrace looking around and enjoying sun, snow and beautiful mountains
Equipment: Are you skier or snowboarder? Take the equipment that you are used to while skiing :)

Komperdell is the main and biggest Serfaus ski area.
Here everyone can find pistes to his or her taste and skills.
I liked very much the pistes accessible by Sheidbahn and Obere-Sheidbahn lifts especially the black one Obere-Sheidabfahrt (you may find it on the left-hand side of the picture, "canyon" near the "triangle"). By the way, Obere-Sheidbahn lift takes the skiers to this piste only; it even has a warning at the entrance, something like "for trained skiers only".
Equipment: Skies or snowboard depending on your preferences

I'd like one day to come back to Serfaus with my (future) children :)
It seems, everything is made to devoid any problems while having vacations with kids.
Different kids ski areas, special funicular (Murmlis Kinderbahn), and even children toilets at the mountain restaurants!
Unfortunately I took the picture of the 'Kinderschneealm' (the biggest snow amusement park) when the sky was cloudy and it was snowing. That is why there are not a lot of people there. Usually, when the weather is sunny this area looks much better!
Equipment: I suppose, the best advice for the children equipment could by given by ski school instructors.
