Aqua Dome is one of first 5 spa resorts in the world (this is not publicity, is just an information).
Don't hesitate to go outside, especially if there is snow storm and -18 degrees.
    Have fun!

Wednesday evening to "Mittelstation" (2178 m altitude) is a show on a black track. The ski instructors from Sölden make a demonstration on black track.
There is also a small scene and some dancing show. It is nice, it is cold and night, fireworks, everybody is jumping and drinking. Cool!
Ah!... Don't forget you ski or board, because you have the occasion to downhill on track nr 10 witch is nocturne that evening. I missed that this year.
As a wesite you have the web for Giggijoch snow show park (different track).

Advertising the Hannibal show wich will be later this year a giant Elephant was made of Glacier Ice on the Rettenbachgletscher. You go past it when skiing down from the Glaciers ski lifts.

Up all the high alps there are some glaciers. In winter they are covered with tons of snow wich makes them look very smothe and soft.

Well, of course the Mountains are for what you go to Sölden. They go up to about 4'000m above sea level.

From the top of the Rettenbach Glacier you will need to take this (hopefully toll free) tunnel in order to reach the Tiefenbach Glacier. Do not worry this 170 meters long tunnel is well lighted and it is large enough to overtake carefully the other snails on skis ;-)

Another interesting fact is you could access the both glacier even by road. A scenic toll road linked Sölden to the Rettenbach Glacier after a 13 km trip. You could drive 3 km more to the Tiefenbach Glacier via the spectacular 1750meters long "Rosi Mittermaier Tunnel", the Europe's highest road tunnel.

You will need a little time to access to this area, but (of course) it is worth the trip. At the arrival you will be surprise by this massive glacier which offer a long and steep slope, quite exceptionnal on a glacier. This slope is also the traditionnal venue of the annual World Cup Ski opening end of October.

The both glacier skiing area offer 25km of blue (easy) runs and 13 km of red (medium) runs well equiped with 10 efficient skilifs (3 gondolas, 2 chairlifts, 5 T-bar lifts)

After your arrival via the Expressglacier, take the Schwarze Schneidbahn, a modern 8 seats cable car, to go up to the highest skiing area point at 3250 meters asl. Then take the skitunnel to the second glacier Tiefenbach Gletscher (see the next tip) or enjoy the World Cup downhill run...

When you come back from the Tiefenbach Glacier, you need to take a narrow skiing road carved into the glacier... where sometimes artistic sculptures could be admire. You could also continue you way down to the valley station thanks to a 12km long diwnhill run with 1690 meter difference in elevation until the Gaislachkoglbahn departure station.

In summer you could also ski on the glacier from May to September depending on the snow conditions. July and August the area is closing, so head to the beach instead ;-)

Giggijoch at 2284 meters asl is the center of the skiing area.

4 modern chairlifts are waiting for you:
    1. The Rosskirplanbahn, a 4 chairlift with a capacity of 2650 pers/hour leads you to some nice black slopes from the Hainbachjoch 2727m. asl.
    2. The Giggijoch, a 3 chairlift leads you to easier and wider slopes.
    3. The Hainbachlar, a 4 chairlift let you reach the Rettenbach valley and the Gaislachkogl skiing area.
    4. The Silberbrünnlbahn, a 4 chairlift takes you on to the Glacier area via the Rotkogljoch pass, then take the Glacierexpress to finally reach the Rettenbach Glacier.

But best thing to Giggijoch area is to enjoy the sunny terrace on a confortable armchair, listen good music and refresh with local drinks at the Panorama restaurant. Before heading down to the valley... if you could ;-) or take the gondola.
