The hood ornament / radiator mascot / Kühlerfigur of all Rolls Royce cars is called "Emily" or the "Spirit of Ecstasy" since the year 1911.
There are various versions of this mascot, the first was a standing one, later it was kneeling, so the driver had a better sight, then it was changed back to the standing version, but much smaller than before.
A special mascot is obviously used for the cars of the british court, see it in my 3rd picture here and a private, not official mascot in my very last picture.
Another Emily is in my 4th picture, it is a running Emily, that I only saw on a single car of that large collection of about 80 Rolls Royce-cars.

The Rolls Royce of the Price of Wales is a RR New Phantom of 1926, an elegant open touring-car of King George V, who obviously used it for an Africa Safari.
There are 5 ordinary seats plus 2 - quite small - extra-seats in that car.

The Rolls Royce of Laucrence of Arabia was one of the most interesting cars for me in that collection, simply because I enjoyed his books and also the movie about his life.
This Type was a Rolls Royce Phantom Open Tourer Car of 1928 and so he did not use it in the desert, when fighting for the Arabs, that was much earlier, during WW I.
Nevertheless it looks like a car to be used in the desert - take a look also at my extra-pics !

In Dornbirn / Austria you will find the museum with the largest museum-collection of Rolls Royce-cars. I really did not expect to see more than just a few cars, but the total number of Rolls-Royce-exhibits is more than 1000 - thats not only cars, but also all sorts of RR-accesories, I estimate the number of cars around 80 maybe.
Cars are displayed in a museum, 3000 sqm wide, on 3 different floors of a former factory and there is also a garage, where Rolls Royce cars are repaired and restored and you can even walk there and watch the workers.
You will even see the original Rolls Royce of Laurence of Arabia, not in a perfect condition of course, but maybe perfect for its time and for the purpose it served for in the deserts.

In Dornbirn it is possible to take a gondola up to a beautiful viewpoint called the "Karren". From here you can see all of Dornbirn and the surrounding landscape, including the Alps and the Boden sea.
Have lunch at the modern restaurant at the top of the "Karren", and then walk back down again. The walk will take about two hours, and along with the view you will see lush green fields and old Austrian farm houses.

Near the Hohenems parish church stands the palace belonging to the Counts of Waldburg-Zeil (1562), in which two manuscripts of the "Nibelungenlied" were found in 1755 and 1779. During the 17th C. a Jewish community settled in Hohenems, and in 1771-72 a synagogue was built, which now serves as the fire-brigade headquarters. From the palace a footpath leads up in 40minutes to the ruined 12th C. castle of Alt- Ems (713m/2,339ft) and to Glopper castle (Neu-Ems; 14th C.). From the top there are superb views over the Rhine valley to Lake Constance.

On the left bank of the Dornbirner Ache southwest of the Dornbirn town center are the studios of the ORF (the Austrian Radio and Television Service), and also the popular ice rink (skating and curling).

... in the heart of the town but still surrounded by countryside
With this modern multi-purpose building the town of Dornbirn has an event and conference centre to suit every requirement.
Equipped with the latest congress technology, and with its infinitely variable modular venues, it has firmly established itself as an innovative meeting place. At the "Kultur- und Kongresshaus Dornbirn" (Dornbirn Culture and Congress Hall) all the facilities that you would expect of the very best confer-ence venues are provided with corporate hospitality. It offers the necessary space and the appropriate surroundings required for conferences, con-gresses, seminars, cultural or business events.

Dornbirn is hardly considered to be a tourist town yet is still attractive to newcomers. More and more business travellers are discovering the charm of Dornbirn and its area. They return and spend a few days here on holiday with their family or to go on excursions to the 3 other countries easily accessible from here. The most beautiful excursions are Liechtenstein, Switzerland, south Germany and Tirol, none of which are particularly far. Lake Constance with its cultural and agricultural beauty, Zurich, Munich, Ulm, Innsbruck, Lucerne, Lugano, the swiss Alps (Davos), St. Moritz and Arosa all lie within a two hour radius by car.

the largest Rolls Royce-museum on earth

In Dornbirn you will find the largest museum of Rolls Royce-cars on earth. I did not count them, but I think there must be more than 80 cars in that museum plus a garage to restore these cars
