  • Grinzing & Heurigen

    4.5 out of 5 stars

    Vienna Restaurants

The main reason to go there is the view witch is simply great, you sit in the middle of vineyards see the Danube and parts of Vienna, best to go there on a nice summer day. The food is the usual Heurigen food bread spreads like Liptauer (cheese), faschierte Laibchen (minced meat patties), roast pork. The wine is made (as usual with Heurige) by the...

Cozy place and we went 2x within the 5days trip. Easy to find and actually known in Vienna. A huge schnitzel good to share but I did not share mine haha It was really good. Aside from the Cordon bleau, they also have other specialties you can try but never miss the schnitzel.

  • Demel

    4 out of 5 stars

    Vienna Restaurants

The last time we were in Vienna, we didn't get the opportunity to visit Demel. This time, we weren't going to pass up the opportunity. We met up with one of LJ's friends (from when she used to live here) and headed to Demel for lunch/dessert. A classic, historic and wonderful place to visit...just the desserts alone make this a "must-see"...

There are plenty of eating places at Naschmarkt but this is the one we always go to for mid-morning coffee and something from the bakery. It's really a bakery but has three or four small bench-style tables inside and the same number of tables to stand at outside. Very casual, clean, friendly counter service, oven fresh bakery items.

  • Sacher

    4 out of 5 stars

    Vienna Restaurants

I'm never going to visit this place again and in fact strongly discourage anyone to spend money there, especially if you travel with small kids. While they do accept children and even have high chairs readily available, we had by far the worst experience in this place. First of all the waitress indicated us a small table, roughly in a middle of a...

  • Kaffeehaus

Gloriette - Cafe is a great restaurant/Cafe inside the Gloriette of Schönbrunn - palace It is absolutely worth that 20 minutes that you might need to walk from the Schloss Schönbrunn a bit uphill in order to have some coffee in the Gloriette and see that great view over Vienna from their cafe or terrace. They serve a great breakfast and wonderful...

Opened over 150 years ago, Café Central was a meeting place for the city's intellectuals, and Lenin & Trotsky are said to have been regular customers. In a historic old and beautiful building, with a high vaulted ceiling, waiters in traditional uniform, a pianist playing classical music. Sitting here is like travelling back in time. Stick with the...

  • Landtmann

    4.5 out of 5 stars

    Vienna Restaurants

It is really not very easy to find some of the old, traditional Kaffeehaus in Vienna these days, but Cafe Landtmann is definitely one of the best that you will find ! It is situated opposite of the Burgtheater and when you are lucky you might find some (local) celebrities there as well. Some time ago they had this funny sculpture of a horse dressed...

  • Hawelka

    3.5 out of 5 stars

    Vienna Restaurants

Hawelka is a typical Kaffeehaus in Vienna and generations of students came here to "study". And a "Wiener Kaffeehaus" does not necessarily mean that you will get there just Coffe and cakes but it is a sort of " living in public " having coffee, lots of glasses of fresh water ( free of charge and taken to the table without a bad word ), taste the...
