Schoenbrunn and its gardens are more than just a tourists' place. While visiting the gardens on a Saturday morning I came across many locals doing some exercise and running. It is also frequent to find mummies and daddies playing with their little children or pushing their babies' car.
I find it particularly nice that this beautiful garden is in fact used by locals to enjoy some nice time out, unlike some other tourists' places frequently found around the world that are used to serve only Tourism as an economic activity and not to be enjoyed by locals.

There are many information signs around the site with a wealth of information on them. The signs will tell you a little of the history of the palace and the surrounding area.
There is a tourist information area in the main town just outside of the Palace that can be most helpful with information about the trains, the local hotels and other attractions of the area.
Be sure to say thank you for the help and try to say it in Austrian.
