parks & gardens: Visit the Lainzer Zoo
This is something like a park where you have some domestic animals running free, but in order to see one you have to choose a day when not so many tourists go. The picture was made in the winter of 2003...

This old hospital now belongs to the university and inside there are lots of restaurants, cafes and a children's play area. Great for sitting and reading or having coffee whilst the kids play.

parks & gardens: Sigmund Freud park
We found this park when we were going to Votivkirche. It has a very interesting collection of marble chairs and a marble table with a red map of Austria. Every chair has a country that seems to have meant something important for Austria at one time or another. The names of the countries are:

- Hungary
- Czech Republic
- Estonia
- Cyprus
- Lithuania
- Latvia
- Poland
- Malta
- Slovakia
- Slovenia.

Address: Universitätsstrasse, in front of Votivkirche.
Access: U: Rathaus or Schottentor-univ.

parks & gardens: A nap on the Danube park
We take a nap in the afternoon after a long walk around the city. A lot of people here did the same :-) Take the tram nr. 31 or 33 for the Florisdorfer Brucke stop.

parks & gardens: trees of life
on kahlenberg, one of the best viewpoints to see vienna at the danube, you can find a celtic circle of life trees, they are still young and you can watch them grow if you come back from time to time. on weekends there is music but not live :-( and sometimes there are feasts like the pumpkinfeast. around in the woods there are beautiful very old trees. the whole area is a field of energy.
