Donauinsel and Donaustadt
On this photo you can see U1 U-Bahn station Donauinsel that is situated on the bridge across Danube. U-Bahn is riding through the bridge while there is car road on the top. In the middle of the photo there is UN City with futuristic oval buildings. Skyscraper on the right is 150 m high Hochhaus Neue Donau with 34 floors, second largest skyscraper in Vienna.
Donaustadt is interesting for its modern architecture and for Danube river and lake Alt Donau (Old Danube). There is Vienna International Centre located there with UN headquarters in futuristic round buildings, surrounded by some other skyscrapers. Near the buildings there is beautiful park Donaupark there and 252 m high observation tower Donauturm. In Donauturm there is slowly rotating restaurant there and also it is possible to try bungee jumping from the tower.
Donau Insel Fest
This is a festival (free) on the Island on the Danube. Close to the 22nd district. Anyway, it happens in July and is a week long outdoor party with rides, corn on the cob, beer, great music acts, and a fun fun time!! If you're interested in being with locals and participating in something that locals do - this festival is where it's at in July!
The Donauturm tower is 252 metre long and you can see views of the whole of Vienna.
But when I was there the weather wasn't in the best condision that is why the pictures are grey. But I liked it anyway. Open every day 10-24, cost is 4 Euro for students.

Donaukanal is a canal away from the main flow of the Donau (Danube). It is regulated as a water channel within the city of Vienna.
- Castles and Palaces
The Danube flows through Vienna. Legend has it that if you are in love the river appears to be blue, when I looked at it, it was grey.
This 252 metre-high tower is situated between the Danube and the Old Danube. Beer or coffee is so much different when you're up there. Enjoy the view. Hell, you can bungee-jump from up there.
With its 150m observation deck it provides a unique view of the city and the Danube River on a clear day.
Combinated sightseeingtrip by boat and bus
A combination of a boat tour on the river Danube and a bus tour to the vienna woods is a good thing to do. We choosed CITYRAMA sightseeing tours, duration 4 hours, 35 Euro.

Cruising the Danube
This looks like a lovely way to spend a leisurely couple of hours or even longer! A river cruise is always a great way to see the sites of any city and Vienna is no exception.
Mexicoplatz is has its name because Mexico refused to acknowledge annexation of Austria commited by Germany in 1938 (Anschluss). There is beautiful church there and port for Danube cruises.
202 m high Millenium tower is the highest skyscraper in Vienna. There is shopping centre and cinema there.
View from the tower Donauturm
It wasn't the clearest day but still the view was very enjoyible. I like when you can go up to a tower and see the view from a city. Pretty amazing.
