Walk around Hofburg! There are a lot of museums inside. I recommend you to walk on the streets located on the backside of Hofburg- like "Herrengasse", etc.

The Hofburg was the Emperor's winter residence. One can visit the beautiful national library (through Josephsplatz), the imperial apartments and the treasury with its crown jewels.

Swiss courtyard is the oldest part of Hofburg complex. The Habsburgs set up house here for more than six hundred years.
All the complex is an awesome repository of culture and heritage

    Statue at Michaelertor

Pay special attention to the detail involved in the Michaelertor. This statue is one of 4 that stand out front.

    Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace (in German "Hofburg") was used by emperors until 1918 but now houses the President's office...

The Imperial Palace is just one of the the many interesting buildings in Vienna.

By Rudolf Weyr (1895), this animated fountain is on the left of the building (MICHAELERTRAKT).

The one on the right is named "Austria's Dominion over the Earth", executed by Edmund Hellmer in 1897.

Also known as Schweizertor is quite striking to look at. It originated during the Renaissance.

Near here is the Treasure Chambers which houses the Hapsburg invaluable crowns, religous objects etc
