 | Vienna Hundertwasser Reviews | Tips 121 - 130 of 132 | | The chaos continues inside: a medley of wood, glass, ceramic mosaic, tiles .Just living here is a motif to live. There is a gift shop at the Hundertwasser housem and mainly sells posters, frame pictures and small souveniers. What was interesting to look at was the posters which had the Hundertwasserhaus in 4 seasons; Oliver and I were rather amused by the picture becos we kept account on the cars parked along of the street!!!!, Across the street from the Hundertwasser house, there is an equally amazing gift shop. There are several stores in there - one which had nice magnets and paper craft of the Hundertwasser - impressive cut out art posters and cards, and there is even a cafe in it. There are other standard souveniers stuff available there - but it is a shade more expensive than else where. But most people go to the basement to visit the interesting toilet...check out on next tip... Leave a Comment |
They may look like an explosion in a paint factory but the Hundertwasser flats have been transformed into very desirable places to live. The flats are issued to people by the government and they cannot be bought. The project took place between 1982 and 1985 to complete the 50 apartments. There are also a few souvenir shops and an old red UK phone booth there. Leave a Comment Directions: No idea, a friend drove us there |
This building was built by the famous Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Leave a Comment |
This is a very interesting architectural piece. Trees and flowers grow inside the building in their natural environment. Leave a Comment |
This is an apartment flat building designed by the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who basically believed that architecture should follow two principles: 1. Avoid edges, make use of "round" forms; 2. Use bright, shining colours (instead of grey). The result is very nice to look at, though the inhabitants must cope with a daily stream of tourists. This is an art noveau architecture home to several Viennese. Completed in mid 1980s, it must have been the namesake first project. It has interesting 3 D concept, and also mutli colours and has lots of fresh plants giving it a ecological look. You can only notice the onion domes, if you stand far from it...say perhaps start looking when you get off from the train station. I did like it, it is something different from the baroque styled, viennese styles building.... it is to me very much in the theme of superior architect Gaudi from Barcelona, Spain altho I think Gaudi works are much earlier, and ahead of his time...... This is original, colorful & intreguing architecture and an 'art culture' in and of itself.... Leave a Comment |
We stopped to see this amazing building on our way out of Vienna and what a house! It gives you a feeling of Barcelona or so, in the middle of conservative Vienna. See more on the website below, telling you more of whom Hundertwasser was as well. Leave a Comment |
