Oper - Staatsoper, Vienna
Vienna is full of magnificent buildings and the Opera House is just another fine example of the architecture in the city.
Staatsoper was built in midle 19th century but was destroyed during World War 2. It was reconstructed during 1950-es.
A lot of the buildings in Vienna were under construction whilst we were there, including the side of the Opera building. Scaffolding and a big Dawoo billboard covered it.
And while you are around the area try visit the Opera Toilet - for 50 cents euro...very similar to the Hundertwasser toilet idea
Staatsoper (State Opera) is still at heart of Viennese culture (and remains one of three top opera companies in the world).
The cheapest option for seeing opera is standing-room tickets.
