    Schoenbrunn Palace

Schönbrunn Palace was once used as summer residence of the Habsburgs. Emperor Francis Joseph was born here in 1830 and spent the last years of his life entirely in Schönbrunn.

The 'little' castle of Vienna. The Belvedere was the summer residence as I remember right...... In the evenings there have been illuminations in 1990.....nice.

Once the summer home of the royal family. It has beautiful gardens, and even zoo. At the top of the hill behind the palace is a cafe where you can rest your feet after touring the grounds!

The Hapsburgs main palace, which has over 1400 rooms. Best to get a guided tour to see the best rooms as it would take days to see it all.

Schonbrunn palace is not only beautiful, but it also provides an excellent history lesson about the Hapsburg Royal Family. After touring, be sure to try the apple strudel in the Palace bakery!
